Photoshop CS3 60+ Layers Character: Marisa Kirasame, Touhou c. ZUN Touhou is a vertical scroll shooter, and Marisa's "kill everything" move is "master spark", hence the title. _________________ Whoo, done with my first airbrush piece.  I'm not too satisfied with the colors and the background, but I'm headdesking right now trying to think of something more creative. From the WIP, I've changed the temporary stock magic circle to my own, and the rest is normal "finishing" of the piece. Oh, and no layer modes to shade this time.  I shaded using the color picker and my own palette. And, if anybody wants to use the magic circle I made, just note me or something. As usual, critique is very much appreciated as are fav's, watches, and subs. xD.  Comments X3 Really good.

(That NEVER fails) -- We all know couscous is cut rice...  Loving the magic circle, looks very nice.
So does that magic triangle there in the middle, lol.  Very very cool image! The only things I could think of towards improvement on this might be if there was a darker area right where her feet touched the ground to show contact and maybe some kind of bright blue highlights in the fabric folds of her dress that peak up towards the light. It's really awesome! I like the reflection in the floor

did you use a gaussian blur for her reflection? it works really well!  I like the way you added the littlest detail ^^

Critiques
First of all, the detailing of the power around her hand is fantastic and beautiful. The flow of her dress moves perfectly with the theme and I could only suggest adding a bit more flow from her hair. The reflection was an excellent idea and the detailing of the marks in the floor really add to the realism. Too often artists knock the anime/manga style but for someone who's been drawing it over 10 years and still hasn't gotten any better I applaud your work in the genre. The colour theme is excellent and I would only add that based on it I think her hair would have a little more greenish tinge to it but that's just personal preference.
Overall I really enjoy this piece, it pulls me into the story and makes me hope she's not firing that energy off at me! Well done.
