Working size- 6500x7000px
Time spent- ~8 hours (2 weeks) Layers- 50+ ________________ No, I have not taught myself how to do backgrounds since last time.  Though, I've spent so much time procrastinating this, I need to post it now. I applied some of that color theory I read about here, as well as tried to do that fade effect that you see sometimes in anime. I don't know how to do grass, and I'm not going to break down and use the Photoshop standard grass brush, so I made due with making up my own style of grass makin. There are still some things that annoy me, like how she looks too pale, and how I can't get the background quite right... Whatever. I'll probably just steal a background idea from a nice poster or something that I see. As usual, critique is welcomed. Comments

Random fact:
The eye colors of all my characters were chosen more or less randomly. I just played around with the hue settings until it looked right. -- ⑨  The hair! It looks so purdy! Dang! This is really good! You're improving so much. XD
The only things I see wrong are the eyes. You should move them in a little more towards the nose to give it more of a natural look. And lift the one of the right a tiny bit to be even with the left. XD Oh, and I think the left side of her face it off a bit as well. Slim it a little bit more so the whole face is even. Besides those, this is really good. The coloring is phenomenal (sp? XD)! I wish I knew how to color like that. o.o -- There's an old Italian saying: you f*** up once, you lose two teeth. Random is great!

your art, 'specially with the coloring! My favorite part is the hair. The eyes are a bit askew, but not enough to be distracting. She's seems to be leaning forward a bit, so it'd be nice to see her putting weight on her arm. Or, she could have been leaning back a tad, and her hand could rest delicately in her lap. You've improved so much, keep on keeping on! |
